Civicon supported the Islington Station Redevelopment and Easier Access Project, a major TTC initiative to modernize the existing station and provide a fully accessible route through this important Line 2 transit hub.
The wider redevelopment includes a new five-bay bus terminal, new west station entrance, underground connection between the bus terminal and existing subway concourse, elevators, escalators, stairs, improved streetscape and public-realm improvements. The work is being delivered in phases while maintaining station operations. TTC
Civicon’s Scope
Civicon performed the concrete formwork scope associated with the redevelopment, supporting construction of the new station infrastructure and accessibility improvements.
Working within an active TTC facility required careful coordination with the wider construction team, particularly around sequencing, access and interfaces with existing infrastructure. Civicon brought its specialist formwork experience and field-focused approach to the project, delivering its scope with an emphasis on safety, quality workmanship and schedule performance.
The project demonstrates Civicon’s ability to deliver specialist concrete packages within complex, operational transit environments and forms part of our growing portfolio of work supporting the modernization of Toronto’s transit network.
